I have been using this printer for only about a week now so my review may not be an in-depth one but I certainly hope it will help. The package was delivered as promised and arrived on time, the overall weight of the package was around 9kg so its a bit but nothing you can't lift with a little care. The installation was smooth although first time setting up takes a little while (10-15 minutes) but that's to be expected with precision electronics like this. The ink cartridges are relatively easy to install as well, they should click into their slots relatively easily, if they don't don't force, take them out and do it again gently.
I connected my desktop computer via a USB cable (not supplied with the printer, you are going to have to buy it separately) and my laptop via printer's inbuilt wi-fi. Wi-fi takes no longer to connect than on your new smartphone. I also bought a couple of third party photo paper packs to test photo printing as I am an amateur photographer and I like to make A4/A3 sized prints fairly regularly and that's the primary reason to buy this printer. Prints have sufficient detail and sharpness, although, on third party papers they seem to have a yellow/green cast. I shoot in RAW and edit in Lightroom and print via Photoshop with Photoshop managing colours but despite picking a paper profile closest to the original Epson papers, the prints do look too yellow. Ofcourse you can correct this by adding more blues to your image in Photoshop but that's not right because on the monitor images don't look that warm and you shouldn't have to do that much editing to get the prints matching your monitor.
Also, the yellow cartridge for some reason was the first to run out completely, don't know if the printer was over consuming yellows and hence the yellow cast or the paper was wrong. Using third party paper is very common like Ilford, Hahnemule etc and with the closest paper profile selected the prints shouldn't be coming out this yellow. Having said that though, today I tried with Epson Premium Glossy paper and the prints are looking fine, the colours are accurate and there is no colour cast. I am going to experiment with larger ink pack (24XL) and variety of different papers and see how I get on so in the future I might downgrade or upgrade my star rating or even return the printer based on how the printer performs.
