At last this excellent album on CD and it was Gladys Knight and The Pips best selling album ever. Many hit singles including the brilliant "Midnight Train To Georgia". All original nine tracks are gems.

Gladys Knight and The Pips are from Atlanta Georgia.
Imagination was their eleventh album and their first album for Buddah Records. Released in October 1973 it reached number 9 on the Billboard album charts. Produced by Tony Camillo and Kenny Kerner.
There were 4 singles released from the album.
The first single was Where Peaceful Waters Flow which reached number 28 on the singles chart.
The second single was Midnight Train To Georgia which was released in August 1973 and topped the singles chart. This song became their signature song.
The third single was I've Got To Use My Imagination which was released in November 1973 and reached number 4 on the singles chart.
The final single released was Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me which was released in February 1974 and reached number 3.
This reissue by Funky Town Grooves includes an instrumental version of Midnight Train To Georgia.
This album is a great example of seventies soul.
