Ive read a few of Jason Smarts books and they never fail to engage me in his travels. This time he and Angela are on their travels around Bangkok, Bali and Borneo.. The food is always a major part of travel and to be honest a lot of it leaves alot to be desired! Hence the title of the book ! The authors amusing fixation with a loo seat in Tokyo is funny.. just how many times can you need to flush a loo ?? I really enjoyed this book.. I feel as if Ive been on the trip myself . great stuff.

An interesting look at Asia through the experiences of another traveller. Highlighted some points of interest and his own feelings. It was also refreshing to read a book written by someone who understands grammar and punctuation. I did not have to mentally correct it, therefore, making it all the more enjoyable to read.

Read the whole book but not very well written in my opinion. It was a bit like a whistle stop tour that didnt gel together, difficult to read. The author could have made it more interesting and humerous. Wouldnt recommend

I have read three travel books by this author and enjoyed them all, his style is so straight forward and although he does not have to rough it by staying in hotels with his wife he still has quite a few uncomfortable experiences. There is a lot of humour in his accounts as well, this is a book that I did not want to put down, By reading this I almost felt I was with them on the journey, great.

I found this book quite depressing, it focused on what was wrong in each country, roads, queues, fumes and rubbish. Bearing in mind they had opted for mainly third world countries I am not sure what they expected to find. I felt that they did nothing to find out about the way people lived and just headed to the obvious tourist attractions. I would not read anything by Jason Smart again.

Very much a shocked "Asia is so strange" whirl wind trip around Asia. A quick read. Hope the book paid for your trip.

Too short on detail for my liking...seems to arrive at a new country every 10 minutes, which doesn't give enough time to really immerse yourself in the culture of the various destinations ...didn't learn much, and didn't really enjoy the writing style..sorry.
