What can be said about this funny, brilliant, marvelous, magnificent book that hasn't already been said in the 400+ years since its first publication? Not much, I think, except that this is a well formatted and beautifully illustrated edition, and those things add to the enormous pleasure of reading it.

It is wonderfully written with lots of incredible characters and adventures. The two main characters Don Quixote, who always sees a knight-errant adventure in everything and Sancho Panza, who sees the reality but is unable to convince his master, the knight-errant, Don Quixote, are beautifully crafted and really draw you into their adventures and you feel for Sancho's frustration and Don Quixote's sense of adventure and naivety. A great read.

An immensely long early novel that repays the time needed. Simple, colourful, witty - modern comedy can be seen to have a birth here, and I still find myself smiling when I think back on some episodes.
