5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent debut, 24 Feb. 2014

This CD blew me away the first time I listened through it. It's clear this band knows what they want to project through their songs and they do it ease. They remind me of a heavier more punk influenced My Bloody Valentine, they infuse catchy jangle pop with heavily distorted shoegazey riffs. The lead singer metaphorically screams her heart into the microphone, if you enjoy this CD go see them live because they are amazing!

I'd never heard of Joanna Gruesome until I saw them play as the lead-in-act for Speedy Ortiz. Had one of those "The supporting act were better than the main act" shows. A great band, and sharp little record.

I love this album - catchy, melodic, rocking, thrashing pop songs - what could be better than that! Highly recommended if you that's your thing
