5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful sequel, 11 Aug 2013
This review is from: Selkie's Revenge (Orkney Selkies Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
Well I fell in love with Orkney and the Selkie brothers in book 1, and was worried book 2 would be a repeat story with a different brother, was so happy to be proven wrong, the darker twist to mack and Beth's story adds a depth to the emotion the story evokes, I felt the anger, understood the consuming urge for revenge and fell for the charactors, a fantastic, emotional and super sexy Selkie story. Thank you Rosanna for letting me read and review this story. I loved it from start to finish

I really enjoyed this follow up to The Selkie! It's a little darker as both the heroine and hero are grieving. The Heroine Beth has lost both her husdand and her young son in the last year to an 'accident' at sea. The Hero Machar, lost the girl he loved to a vindictive Finman a couple of centuries before.
Since the death of the woman he loved, Machar has taken it upon himself to hunt down the Finmen (hoping to find one in particular) and prevent them from taking anymore innocent females.
When the Finman he's been looking for targets Beth, he'll do anything to keep her safe and to destroy the Finman he's hunted for so long. He also is looking for a mate as he's begun to feel the pull of his mate (something his single brothers tease him mercilessly about!) and that mate is Beth which only intensifies his need to protect her and keep the Finman from getting hold of her!
The two have great chemistry and Machar brings Beth to life again as she'd been lost in her grief for the past year which considering her loss is understandable but he encourages her to let go and to heal.
Though there is a darker emotional element to this book there is also a lot of humour, mainly when Machar is bantering with his family and Beth is bonding with his brothers mates Maggie and Elsie!
The heat levels also soar as Machar and Beth get closer and give in to the sexual chemistry between them! Machar definitely brings out Beth's naughty side!
I would highly recommend this book! I would also say that if you haven't read it already then also pick up the first book in the series although you don't need to have read it to enjoy this story!

I really wasn't keen to ready at Selkie shifters, but the author's Gemini Island books ahd been a real treat. I loved this more. I've visited the Orkneys, and the author's research is spot on. Her heroine is resiliant but sightly broken. Then Mack bursts into her life. He's wounded too, but together they are strong and resoursceful as they fight an anient evil. Along the way, they fall in love. One of the best books I've read in a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME STORY !, 10 Sep 2013

This series just gets better. What an emotional story it has been, and I admit to having a few tears over this one.
Mackar realises how happy his older and younger brothers are now they have found their mates, he see's how their lives have changed for the better. Angus and his wife now have a babe too, and Mack realises he want's this for himself. He is ready to settle down with a mate and start his own family. However there is one problem, true mates are hard to find, and as his on off friend with benefits, isn't interested in a permanent mating, he ponders on changing her mind. That is until the fateful day when he rescue's Beth from drowning.
My heart goes out to Beth as she grieves for the loss of her husband and child, she is in such a dark place. Mack is drawn to her, he has no idea why, but he wants to help her, especially when he discovers she has been marked by one of those evil creatures Finman. Determined to keep her safe, their relationship grows at a fast pace, hot and steamy scenes, battle lines are drawn, and love blooms.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it.

This book was great, loved it just as much as the first or maybe more. So wish I could have a Selkie man for myself. Loved the characters, very well described by the author and the connections were strong throughout the two books. These books were recommended to me, I am so grateful, I recommend them to you. Enjoy and dream of Selkie men x
