This review is from: The Hobbit Figure Azog Wave 2 (Toy)
With the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey released in cinemas, not to forget to mention published now on DVD and Blu Ray (including an extended cut), much has been desired from the 3/3 4" and 6" figure line from fans and collectors.

So has the (almost) year long wait been worth it?
Comparing what we were shown early 2013 at Toy Fair for the Desolation Of Smaug figure line; to what we have ultimately been given, it's a tad bit disappointing.
A tone of re-packs, from figures we got from wave 1, leaving 3 new figures for the 3/3 4" scale:
Azog, Radagst and Thranduil (who's been sneakily put in a 5 figure pack consisting of 4 re-packs), it's a head-scratcher of a move seeing as most of the figures from the Unexpected Journey Line simply haven't sold, so what's the point in releasing them again?!
Lets just hope and pray that wave 3 gives us all dwarves that we were shown at Toy Fair...

At-least we FINALLY have Azog, the main antagonist of Unexpected Journey (and most likely one of the main antagonists for Desolation Of Smaug),i'm assuming they didn't want to spoil who the villain was for the film so they decided to hold out on releasing him.

The figure comes with two accessories, his bone mace and a removable 'wire' hand, just a shame he didn't come with a normal left hand so you can re-enact 'that flash back fight scene' between him and Thorin.

He has the standard articulation you'd expect from this figure lines scale, ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, a swivel right hand, ball jointed hips (which are hindered by his loincloth / skirt) and ball hinged knees.

The sculpting and detailing is fantastic and incredibly screen accurate; donning battle cuts and markings all over his body, this is simply one Ork you must add to your hobbit collection!
I just wish the bridge direct made the multi-figure pack of this figure and the white warg that the character rides in the film.

Fantastic figure, its about time this character was made into an action figure. The Bridge Direct has finally given this orc leader from the Hobbit trilogy.

As a big fan of the Hobbit films I had to start a collection of the figures. Azog is the main bad guy that the company have faced in the first two films and is a much sought after figure. The figure is made with great detail and had many moving parts. He comes with his battle mace which fits into his right hand and looks the business. For the collectors out there, the item arrived very well packaged and the card was in perfect condition.
