The Irrepressibles - From The Circus... To The Sea (Of Naked Design)
A seven-track mini album of orchestrated, experimental, playful, operatic glee from Jamie McDermott and his talented group. First impressions draw comfy comparisons with Anthony Hegarty's powerful vocal vibrato, and the ambitious instrumentation emphasises the point. But, on closer inspection, it's the introverted howl of Scott Walker's latter-day wanderings that From The Circus most resembles, though the arrangements and the way they're presented here are easier on both the ear... and your eternal soul.

I'd love to tell you the names of the tracks that provide the most baroque pleasure, but (at the time of writing) that information has been withheld. I can tell you that the Londoners Myspace page offers more in the way of explanation than simple words ever could. 8/10.
