Not quite the story I associate with Robin Hood but still interesting.

I fancied a change instead of reading a story set in modern times, I typed into Amazon Robin Hood. Both of these books came up, after reading the descriptions I decided to download them both. I am glad I did, when I finished the first one I couldn't wait to read the second. Fantastically written, great plot's and I was unable to put them down. I managed to read both book's in five day's.

Maybe I have been spoiled by Bernard Cornwell. This book offered lots of promise but filed to deliver. It felt like it was written by a 16 year old, really lacks detail and is pure fiction rather than historical fiction. I would reccomend you leave this one on the shelve and pick up Azincourt from Bernard Cornwell

Robin Hood has never been a particular interest of mine but this reexamination of it is well researched and cleverly written giving the character a real feel seldom seen in renditions of the myth. It is a good marriage of History and Legend, which makes for an entertaining read. A must for fans of the outlaw and medieval enthusiasts!
