Bitdefender Total Security is a very good product but be warned, previously installed internet security from other suppliers can prevent the product from loading properly. Bitdefender support is excellent and they have some free software on their website to uninstall the previous software (The standard Windows Uninstaller doesn't always do the job with some software). I would recommend this product despite the loading problems (Which are not Bitdefenders fault).

Just gone to Bitdefender from Kaspersky and loved the simplicity. Had not realised that Kaspersky had been blocking messages from a program I use until I uninstalled Kaspersky and installed Bitdefender and they started flooding through. Both are good at doing what they say and that is protecting you but as it stands I will give the nod to Bitdefender, well recommended.

I installed this on my laptop with no issues, but I was unhappy so I have uninstalled it and got a refund. I found that the software stops frames being shown. For example, on an ebay listing for a cd, I couldnt see any of the tracks as this box was replaced by a message saying bitdefender had blocked it. This was clearly not a dodgy website, so I figured the product settings needed adjusting. I tried to do this, but its a really user unfriendly interface and confusing terminology etc, so I googled it and emailed their customer support forum twice. They didnt reply so after a few weeks and a threat to uninstall and leave a poor review, I did just that. I could not recommend this product as I was never sure if it was set up properly and didnt want to spend hours on google working out how to use it. Even if it is a robust product, its of no use if you have to disable it to view routine websites and their customer care is appalling. There's no point having a system for customers to contact you if you cant be bothered to reply.

First, Bitdefender is a very good antivirus product.

HOWEVER, my experience with the company and their agents has not been good. Some time before my license was due to expire, Bitdefender sent me a lot of offers, inviting me to renew early at a discounted price. They were good offers, so I did renew early. However, 7 days before the original license would have expired I received an email from a company called "Digital River", who claimed to be Bitdefenders' agents, saying "when you purchased BitDefender, you accepted an Auto Renewal facility with Digital River on behalf of BitDefender", and that therefore they were going to renew my subscription for another year. I certainly never knowingly accepted an "auto renewal facility"; this is something I would never do. I can only presume that I failed to notice some pre-checked tickbox in an obscure corner of the web form.

As I had already renewed my subscription, directly with Bitdefender, obviously I didn't need a duplicate subscription. Luckily, included in the email from Digital River was a link to a website where, it was stated, I could cancel the Digital River subscription. Naturally, I tried to do that. Having apparently accepted my details, the website directed me to another page, where I was invited to log in again with my email address and password. This failed. I thought I might have got my password wrong, so I asked for my password to be sent to me. I then tried to log in again, using the email address that Digital River had used to communicate with me (the one I had used to buy the original subscription) and the password that had just been sent to me. The response was always the same: "Enter a valid email address"!

I sent an email to Bitdefender's "Help" department, explaining the situation and asking them to cancel the renewal instigated by their agents, but received NO REPLY WHATSOEVER.

From all this it is clear to me that:

- There is no synchronization between the renewal activities of Bitdefender and their agents, Digital River.
- The D.R. "unsubscribe" website is specifically designed to *prevent* you from cancelling your subscription.
- Bitdefender's customer service is useless.

Buy this at your peril!

The overall package is very good but it does take some time to familiarise yourself with it and trying to understand all the options. It is annoying that the main password prompt keeps appearing on the screen even though it has already been entered.
I like the tune up section but again am still learning how to use all the features.

This Computer virus checker seems to tick all my boxes for requirements. It has some good features like having a master password for logging in to protected sites (it remembers your passwords and user names).

The Bitdefender Total Security is very much highly recommended over other more expensive (and inferior) brands of Anti-Virus products. I bought the downloaded 2012 version because British Telecomms McAfee let me down with their technical departments remote tinkering resulting in frazzling my laptop. With replacement laptop I downloaded 2012 Bitdefender Total Security so know fully how well this works. Some users comment on intrusive alerts when computer is switched on but I prefer to know that Bitdefender does its job by alerting me of any a) problems and b) actions Bitdefender are taking to erradicate those problems.
I made the mistake by not keeping Bitdefender because annual renewal is more expensive than buying the CD mid-year and instead returned to horrendously expensive McAfee LiveSafe. Not long after installing McAfee, it let me down incurring hours and mobile phone calls wasted trying to get it remotely fixed with their support team. The £80 cost and features of McAfees LiveSafe is no match compared to Bitdefenders Total Security costing a mere £17. Having just bought an Asus touchscreen laptop I have installed the Bitdefender and advise Amason shoppers to consider this quality A.V. software. Top 5 star rating.

I recently decided to stop using free antivirus software and take my PC Security more seriously.
Some online research quickly indicated that Bitdefender AntiVirus and Internet Security were almost always the highest-scoring in tests and comparison in both speed and reliability as well as the number of virus intercepted and quarantined.
A search for the best price led me to this, by far the cheapest and for a physical product rather than a download, a surprise but not a problem, it was installed less than 24 hours after my research and purchase.

Over the years, I have used many AV programs....AVG, Norton, Kaspersky etc... but, I have to say that Bitdefender is without any doubt, the best ever! Before Bitdefender, I was running with Kaspersky and it was OK but it wasn't as active as Bitdefender. It appeared to be doing its job with daily updates etc, but it never caught anything. Bitdefender, on the other hand is constantly doing something...updating, scanning and reporting back all without me having to do anything. It is running on its 'Autopilot' which is brilliant as it takes care of everything without any decision from me. I am particularly impressed with the number of 'hits' it finds and just simply quarantines and deletes whatever is thrown at it. Bitdefender is ideal for users who are not very sure about computers as it does all the work for you. It does, however, allow more confident users to tweak it to whatever level is required. It even informs you of any weak passwords and any required MS updates. It also has a 'Safepay' facility which automatically kicks in whenever you are on a banking or money page and enables a very safe financial transaction, very impressive! It takes a lot for me to give glowing reviews like this, but in Bitdefender's case, it is well justified. It has even got some very good tools to keep your computer in tip top condition, cleaner, registry cleaner and defragger etc. I've read that some users have experienced a slowing down of their systems, well I must say that all of my 3 laptops have not experienced any slowing down or problems whatsoever. I did have problems like that when I used AVG though. I can, without any doubt whatsoever, recommend Bitdefender Total Security and it is truly amazing value for money! It works and it works extremely well!

Update...I forgot to mention that my Bitdefender works best on Chrome browser. On Firefox and IE it does not run as smoothly....hope this helps!
