I first bought this album over 30 years ago after hearing the band on John Peel's show and am delighted to now own it on CD. Needless to say I have never tired of listening to it.
"Hot Licks, Cold Steel and Truckers Favorites" is a very appropriate title as the album is full of great guitar riffs, beautiful steel guitar sounds and catchy trucking music.
This was the band's 2nd album and in my opinion their best though I can also recommend the live albums they recorded when they were at their peak in the early 1970s.
The music is a mixture of country rock, blues and rockabilly with a bit of Cajun thrown in for good measure. There is a mixture of Rock and Roll covers and also several self penned tracks.
It is now quite expensive to get hold of a copy though I was lucky enough to obtain it at a bargain price.
