On opening the box I thought - no, don't like it. Looks too light for purpose.
But I was pleasantly surprised!
Does the job, same model selling for double the cost on some web pages.
Very happy with item and service!

Like other reviews, when I first used it I found the yarn guide did keep falling down however just easing it out a bit more soon sorted out the problem. It is so easy to use and works very smoothly.

Love this saves so much time and its easy to use. Now I can have nice centre pull cakes so no more chasing my wool all over the floor. Would have given 5 stars except for the feeding arm which does not stay up, I did read the reviews on this and knew there might be a problem with it. I have used a hair grip to keep it in place, which someone had put that they have done the same on one of the reviews, and this is working so no more loose feeding arm and now it works fine. For the money a good buy and would recommend.

Excellent product ! Super fast delivery too. Can't fault this item, it does everything I want it to. I read some reviews about the arm being flimsy, it's not. If the arm on your winder isn't standing up its because it's not pulled out far enough. When you pull and it stops gently tug it a little further and it will stay upright and rigid. I love this winder ! I've just sat and happily wound several balls of yarn

I really don't now how I got on so long with out one of these. I have been crocheting now for over 30 years. And I was having a look on Amazon for some more yarn for a new project and this popped up in my search. I read a few reviews and thought might give it a try. My hands get such fatigue from rolling yarn up and I wanted to see how this would fair. I received the item today and I have already spun 8 skeins of yarn on it. It is brilliant. NO more balls rolling about in my yarn bag getting tangled up. I have less hand fatigue and I can see that this little gadget is going to save me a lot of time unraveling knots. It is extremely simple to use. and not that annoying sound wise. I can still enjoy watching tele while winding a new spool. I have found too that you can use an empty toilet paper roll to spin the yarn up on as well so that way if you have left over yarn you can keep adding to it and get the yarn back on the spindle with ease. I am very pleased with this product. My husband was impressed with it as well because he used to be my knot man. I would enlist him to help get the knots out so now he has been relieved of the aggravation.

This is a very nice ball winder, however, the metal part that should keep the thread straight keeps losing its tension and falling down, which is very annoying. If this tension isn't maintained, the yarn will get stuck on the lower part of the ball winder, and ends up snagging said yarn and you'll have trouble getting everything right. I have to wind the yarn whilst holding it tightly or I end up with a mess!

Works well most of the time but you do need to keep a close eye on the positioning of the wool as it very easily winds around the stem part and is really hard to undo! The wire to thread the wool through is a little unstable and you really need to hold that steady all the time - altogether a little tricky but wool is made into a neat little bun when wound.

Good item. Doesn't take a whole 100 gram ball as tends to get twisted around the cogs . When you receive it and go to use it, theme the metal thread feeder is quite tough to pull out. Give it an extra pull, you might think it will break, but it won't.

I now have 2 as my daughter loves making balls of wool.

Took a while to arrive so don't order this if you're in a hurry. Took a bit of practise to get it working properly but that may be me! You need to pull the arm out as far as you can and then it stays there. I didn't do this at first and kept having to hold it upright. It does look a bit cheap but it's good value for the price and very useful for winding little cakes of yarn.

I did think the price was too good to be true. I would have been as well giving the money to charity as this winder is a waste of money. It is cheap and nasty and the yarn guide has no hope of staying in place hence the wool gets tangled and my ball will be full of joins...........off to search for a good quality one now. Very disappointed.
