Talking, Terrific and Truly cat-tastic!
on 19 June 2015
The silly hoax doing the rounds that Angela prises personal details from your kids and watches them from a man in her eyes via a camera is just daft. I mean seriously with an android app? People are just too gullible. Anyway back to the app and its seriously great. In child mode, you cannot chat with Angela anyway, so that can be locked. I think as a fun loving 40 year old, its pretty safe to use it in non child mode! Yes she talks to you like a chat bot, or cat bot ha ha, and you can reply using text or Google speech, and if you ask her, even unintentionally something which could be construed as suggestive, she brushes it off. I asked her if she liked going to bed in the daytime, as its daytime outside and she said she was tired, and she mistook it to mean I was suggesting something er inopportune!
I wasn't but sometimes she mishears what you say and its hilarious, she said she doesn't like people sitting on her cushions at parties, and I said that's a bit silly as people are meant to sit on cushions, and she thought I said sitting on cousins!
You start off with lots of coins to buy her magic drinks which have effects on her like the rainbow drink which makes her see rainbows, and they clearly are meant to be alcoholic, which is something I am not sure is appropriate for kids.
You can download and change her jewellery, hats etc but not the blue dress or her cafe background which is boring, and something which could be improved, why not offer a choice of backgrounds and dresses?
She repeats herself and sometimes does not answer a question or ask one right, such as I asked her for some fashion advice and she could not answer that. You can wink or smile at her and she copies in a camera but it sometimes does not work.
She's quite sassy and dry at times and does get humour so far, but the interactive chat element needs to be improved, also an English version instead of American, as the references are lost to some extent.
You can tickle her which is cute, but I think the reactions and her figure are not really suitable for kids, and she is an intern for a fashion website, so she's not a child. The other Angela app with great mini games and growing up, having a bath, etc, is much better I think for kids, this actually is better for older kids and adults, and its great if you are on your own as you have someone to talk to.
I really like it, its very amusing and clever.
