5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended as a keeper or gift to people in love with books, rather than cooking, 8 May 2014
‘Fictitious Dishes’ prepared by Dinah Fried is an interesting compilation of delicious dishes that until now we had imagined while reading about them on the pages of famous novels, and now come to life in front of us as list of ingredients needed for their preparation, some trivia in the form of background story, and their photos beautifully taken by the same author.

On 130 pages, the author has presented fifty dishes that are mentioned on the pages of different kinds of novels, but it’s important to emphasize this is not a classic cookbook, because inside you will not find cooking steps and a description of the preparation process, but rather as a reference to some fond memories of the books that we loved, that come to life in front of us in the full color pictures that take up a full page.

For this reason, ‘Fictitious Dishes’ would be more recommended as a keeper or gift to people in love with books, rather than cooking because it offers some additional literary references that will intrigue them, while lovers of cooking can be a bit disappointed by its lack of specific guidelines for preparation.

The Book showed up very quickly!
And its brillant, while it doesn't have 'recipes' it is still an interesting read.
