Round up review based on some heavy usage.
on 9 December 2014
Mostly great, clear, good bass level, occasional drop outs if lots of things happen, for example multiple people talking at the same time as lots of game sounds/music occur, but this is a rare occurrence, and it maybe due to the game or my console/controller.
VERY SENSITIVE, but crystal clear so my friends tell me.
the bands are solid as a rock and retain their out of the box stiffness/tight fit, the cups twist which can help ease the tightness but it's a fine line, between comfort and eventual headaches, which are usually solved by taking them off and taking a few minutes break.
Since these use the controller's batteries , they can drain the life out of them quickly, zinc chloride (cheap one use/ non rechargeables) are useless for long play sessions but good in a pinch, best to invest in a good pair of rechargeables or use the play and charge kit, you need a battery that is good for high drain.
Chat controls, no instructions provided in box just a link to web pages, so i'll give a quick overview/walk through, the plus and minus is for volume but it isn't the way to adjust the mix of voice and game sounds the other buttons are, pressing and holding the 'game pad/ mic' button, will make that button the 'loudest' and a beep will sound when it is the only sound being used, this allows the user to mix the sound to suit them. the middle button is a mute and it lights up when you are muted.
i have found the 'master' volume (+/-) seems to have a bit of a gap between sound levels, which if it's too loud can be adjusted/fine tuned with the other buttons.
all niggles aside worth owning them !
