5.0 out of 5 stars An Irish rugby living legend
If your looking for match reports of the Irish rugby matches over the last 20 years you'll be disappointed. This is a story about one man's travels around the world as the bag man to the Irish rugby team. The stories are incredibly funny and give you an insight into what it was like to go through the highs and lows of Irish Rugby's most successful period.

1.0 out of 5 stars Amusing to a point
If you are interested in Irish rugby over the last 20 years then you may find it interesting, but nothing in here to retain interest. Hugely disappointing and no inside insights.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read for any fan of Irish Rugby over the past15 years, 3 Mar. 2014

This review is from: Rala: A Life in Rugby (Paperback)
An easy to read gem with plenty of anecdotes and stories that will have you chuckling as you turn the page. O'Reilly possesses a dry wit, distinctly Irish, and the inter-chapter additions by various players give you a sense of the esteem to which he is held amongst players. Good insight into the day to day happenings in camp and match day prep. A thoroughly enjoyable read from what seems to be a thoroughly likeable chap!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Amiable Irish rugby tales, 3 Sept. 2014

This review is from: Rala: A Life in Rugby (Paperback)
As an Englishman and rugby writer, I was given this on a visit to Co Kerry. It fitted in well with the relaxed pace of life in my cottage looking out over the Atlantic, and the occasional drop of the black stuff in the local. Lots of anecdotes delivered in a genial style by a very likeable man. Good to see there is still a place for characters like Rala in modern professional rugby. Long may it continue.

a very easy an informative read, but not enough gossip! Rala doesn't say a bad word about anyone or allude to their irritating habits. You would need to well into Irish rugby to enjoy this.

Excellent read! Rugby - from a different perspective and funny. I shall, also, use it as an Irish - and further afield - Good Hotel Guide. If it's good enough for Rala, it's good enough for me.
