This album is full of strong rock (and some slightly funky) memorable tunes, written mostly by Eric Burdon, one of rock's greatest vocalists. The rest of the original Animals are Alan Price on keyboards, Chas Chandler (who "discovered" Jimi Hendrix in 1966) on bass, Hilton Valentine on guitar and John Steel on drums, and they all play very well. "Ark" grows after a few listens and is well worth buying by anyone who likes the old Animals and Eric Burdon's solo albums. These five had briefly reformed in the late 70s for the very good "Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted" LP and they reformed again in 1983 for this album "Ark" and a world tour.
