I have been a fan of the GT series for more than 10 years. I was introduced to them when I was looking for a cure for ankle pains caused by too many years running in unstable air cushioned shoes. I haven't had any pain since.
The GT 1000 feels like the lightest and fastest yet. They would be particularly suitable for serious runners or those that like to train and race in the same shoes.

Over the recent years I have worn most of the GEL 1000 series (1000/1100/1160) which Asics customer services confirmed the GT 1000 is the successor to that series. The shoes were competitively priced and arrived in about three working days. The characteristics of the shoe is keeping with the GEL 1000, similar in weight, maybe slightly wider, again supportive with excellent cushioning. If you have used the GEL 1000 series in the past I have no hesitation is using this product. One final point, the neon orange is very bright!

I can't fault Asics for the running shoes they produce, always a top notch brand to go for when looking to purchase a good pair of running shoes. These are very comfortable and once bedded in after a couple of runs, there's no worry for the likes of blisters forming on your heels or sole of your foot. There's a lot of cushioning and the tread of the trainers is deep enough to not allow slipping or sliding to occur whilst out running in the wet.

Very pleased with these, they have become my everyday trainers rather than used for actual training! Probably get another pair or look into upgrading for real running.

I had the previous model of this shoe (gt-1160) a few years ago. Ran my first marathon in those trainers and loved them. I had a dodgy purchase in between (asics 3030s) and so decided to go back to this shoe. I'm swapping between this shoes and an Asics Nimbus. One shoe is for mild pronation and the other for cushioned so it's not an ideal mix, but I do like both shoes.

This shoe has quite a hard sole, especially when compared to the Nimbus but that's necessary to provide the structure. I've had no problems and I find them quite a comfortable ride though I've only had them out for a about 7/8 runs so less than 60 miles on them.

Purchased a pair of these after trying a similiar pair on in a specialist running shop which were much more expensive so this price is great value. Bought them in half a size bigger than my normal size as recommended and they fit a treat. Have been wearing them in my training runs for my first marathon and have to say they are really comfortable and haven't had any problems with blisters or sore feet, so much so that I have purchased another pair to break in for the day. If you need a reasonably priced pair of running shoes that are comfortable then go for these.

These are great to walk as the gel provides good cushioning and therefore walking with this is great.
The only catch I have with these is that Asics have made a hard support going up the inside of the heel and even though it is cushioned and find that this rubs and becomes uncomfortable after a while. Hopefully I will get used to them or they will shape to my feet.
Apart from that I like the shape, the look, the lightness and the impact reducing gel.

PS: Asics please supply slightly longer shoe laces...

I've mainly been running in Brooks Vapor 10's which are support shoes and purchased some neutral asics cumulus previously just to try out some standard type running shoes with no support but they are too cushioned . I purchased these expecting them to be a solid and firm like the brooks but was pleasantly surprised that they are decent support with a nice amount of cushioning. These arrived from the seller in just a couple of days. Great Service and Great Pair of running trainers for a mild overpronate runner

Very comfortable, nice design, and are great for running.
Compared to my other pair of trainers, running in these is like running on air. There's no concentrated pressure on any point of the foot, they're not compressing on the sides of the foot at all, even when tied very tightly.
If they weren't expensive I'd get more pairs just for casual-wear too.

I purchased these shoes to replace my worn out Nike's. These are good value at nearly half the price of what a similar pair of Nike's would have cost. They are a comfortable shoes but I found my normal size 10 felt tight around the top of my foot. I exchanged them for a half size up and they are a lot better. All in all not a bad pair of shoes, for the price.
