5.0 out of 5 stars Abbado's Bruckner
I have been a Bruckner enthousiast for about half a century, and know his work pretty well. This performance (of the Vienna version) was something of a revelation - an exceptional achievement in both interpretation and recording. Recommended without reservation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully played but a dull recording
This is the third time that Abbado has recorderd this fascinating symphony. His interpretation is beautiful and the Luzern Orchestra play wonderfully but what a pity that the recording is so muffled! If you want to hear this symphony in gorgeous sound, try Riccardo Chailly and the RSO Berlin, recorderd in the Jesus-Christus Kirche in Berlin on Decca.
