4.0 out of 5 stars a great adventure, 24 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Under the endless sky. A thousand days of sea, adventure, and freedom: around the world on a sailboat. (Kindle Edition)
Well translated (English version) tale of a sail around the world. The story jumps around a bit and the reader is often left guessing at the context. For example, the story jumps from single-handed sailing to double-handed without explanation. Or a broken engine is suddenly appears fixed. This is the main reason why I withheld my fifth star.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Adventure, 4 Jun 2013
This review is from: Under the endless sky. A thousand days of sea, adventure, and freedom: around the world on a sailboat. (Kindle Edition)
This is a beautifully written account of two ordinary people who sailed around the world in their sailboat,The Vecchietto. It is written with an easy, personal style which has lost nothing in its translation from the original Italian. I was captivated from the start and couldn't wait to read the full story. I am not a sailor but although some technical language is used, it was effortless to understand and reads just like a novel. It makes it seem entirely possible for anyone to do what these city workers did and to battle with the elements in order to experience such diversity in faraway, often mostly inaccessible places. A brilliant read!
