5.0 out of 5 stars The album Sub Focus and Chase + Status wished they made!, 26 July 2013

This review is from: Future Perfect (Audio CD)
This is the best dnb album i've bought all year and even further than that. I've not listened to Drumsound + Bassline Smith's yet (which may beat it?), but this album is absolutely top notch.

The tracks get better and better as the album goes on and there is so much filthy bass here - it's an amazing assault on the senses! Tracks in the middle of the album are pure class peak-time intelligent drum'n'bass and a bit of dubstep in there, but the overall level of grimy bass and beats is unbelievable. Hit after hit after hit.

I hope Loadstar get the credit and praise they deserve. I bought this album on the strength of their remixes to date, and I couldn't be less disappointed. Recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars great D&B, 9 Nov 2013

Bought this album on the back of hearing the magnificent "drowning" earlier this year on 1xtra. Thing is, that is still the best track on the album for me although several come close. Also a lot of tracks are great but would probably sound their best when laced into a D&B mix rather than being standalone tracks. Quite a varied mix of sounds, a bit like carrying on where the Prodigy left off. Certainly wakes you up on the commute to work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Flawless !, 19 Sep 2013

If you buy one album this year make it this one! I very rarely write reviews but this album is so outstanding and inovitive that it deserves one. This is D&B & Dubstep at it's finest and it is an album that you can have on loop and not get bored. I have only owned a week and already i know which track will be coming next. Although Loadstar are different in many ways to Chase and status this album reminded me of the first time i listened to C&Status's first Album, with groundbreaking tracks and not following other D&B albums where every tune sounds the same. There is only two other albums i'm anticipating this year which are Sub focus and Chase and status but i still think this album can hold its own againest them. Buy it i promise you won't be dissapointed!!

Ram Records (under the power of Andy C) have been introducing acts from the world of DnB into the 'commercial world' of music for years. Don't believe me? They provided a platform for Chase & Status, Sub Focus and Calyx & Teebee to release their own albums. Not a bad lineup.

So it was no surprise to me that their latest find, Loadstar, were expected to perform just as well. Lets face it, when there is the ability of Andy C behind your project you are already onto a winner.

This however, is different to any album from a DnB debutant that I have heard since Pendulum's Hold Your Colour, and trust me I listen to a lot of DnB music. This album has such a mature sound that you would expect to be coming from a group releasing their third album. The bass range is exceptional and the variation between songs are so different but work so well together.

My personal favourites are 'Be There' and 'Sliders'. Be There sounds like I have just been thrown back into a 90's nightclub where they have decided to throw some 21st century dubstep into the mix. Fantastic idea. The whole album just works and I am very excited for the future because guys this is 'MODERN PERFECTION'.

Yeah all good, best album I've got this year so far, every track worthwhile, and quite a few new modern classics on here.
