Another Jewel Quest game, same old freezing problem
on 9 May 2014
Lets start with the positives. This is an excellent incarnation of the game: All the best jewel boards from the previous series, with some interesting new additions to keep even the most jaded Jewel Quester entertained. Engrossing story line with competent voice acting and beautifully hand drawn backgrounds to accompany the tale. You can also make moves before the jewels stop falling, allowing you to save precious time and make some smart moves. There are three difficulty levels easy (unlimited time), medium and hard, which you can change before any jewel board, so if you're struggling, you can make it easier for yourself. Unfortunately, as a previous reviewer found, the game freezes about two thirds of the way through, and you can't progress any further - I have sent mine back for a refund, but will purchase again at a later date (hoping this was just a duff batch and the issues will be sorted out). That said, I still had a lot of fun with it, definately one of the best games in the series.
