5.0 out of 5 stars Under-Rated Book
Hi, im quite shocked at seeing such negative comments about this book, i picked up a copy and read it from front to back to further ingrain my own knowledge of Bootstrap, This book has almost become obsolete now as bootstrap has moved onto version 3, although some of the books content is still valid, and does help you with many good source code examples, Bootstrap is...

2.0 out of 5 stars No more than you get from the Bootstrap web site, 15 Jun. 2013

I was trying to explore Bootstrap and understand if it had any relevance to projects I was working on. The information on the Bootstrap web site seemed to be missing something that made it difficult to understand where it was applicable to use Bootstrap. I was hoping this book would provide that information and some more detail on some of the elements of Bootstrap that seemed inconsistent in their design.

I've awarded two stars, because there's just enough additional information in this book to make the Bootstrap online documentation fully understandable. In terms of the technicalities of developing with Bootstrap this book offers nothing that I wasn't then able to get from the Bootstrap site - in fact in some instances I had to turn to the Bootstrap web site to resolve errors in the examples in the book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, very little value added, 20 Jun. 2013

I bought the e-book version of this from O'Reilly, and was disappointed by the book. It is basically adds very little, if anything, to the documentation on the Bootstrap web site. Annoyingly conversational in tone -- can't count how many times the author said "this is one of my favorite features in Bootstrap".

1.0 out of 5 stars Why didn't I read the reviews!, 11 July 2014

This "pamphlet" really is a waste of money - little more than 100 pages of text, and as several other reviewers have said, there really is nothing new here at all. I am a bit of a newbie regarding responsive design and have found that the Bootstrap site is aimed more at the experts who already know where to start, and this book is just as bad. Important terms are used that have not been defined, so I spend more time looking them up than looking at the book.

Also, I hoped to learn something about using Bootstrap with SASS (it is what I'm used to), but this implementation isn't even mentioned.

Tiny book - not worth the money.

It's vastly out of date too.

I'm not actually sure what this book was trying to solve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Under-Rated Book, 9 Nov. 2013

Hi, im quite shocked at seeing such negative comments about this book, i picked up a copy and read it from front to back to further ingrain my own knowledge of Bootstrap, This book has almost become obsolete now as bootstrap has moved onto version 3, although some of the books content is still valid, and does help you with many good source code examples, Bootstrap is taking the web development market by storm, lets not forget this book is under £13 for the paperback version, and not everyone enjoys reading online but if its your bag its less than £7. Personally i enjoyed it, but having written sites in the newer bootstrap 3 version, i could easily adjust the examples in the book to work with this later version. If you really dont know why or if you should use bootstrap, then to be honest, its not for you anyway. For the rest of us, who are serious about web design we know bootstrap is the way to go!

Looking forward to a Bootstrap 3 book coming soon :)
