Elvis At Stax

This is a good and very listenable collection but many Elvis fans will already have the vast majority of the music that's on here, as I have, the masters on numerous previous releases (original albums or collections), and many of the alternate takes on FTD releases or "Rhythm & Country". It does sound better on this release, however.
The opening track on Disc 1 (I Got A Feelin' In My Body Take 1), with the pre-song warm up, is fantastic, and the warm up does add quite a lot to the enjoyment of the song in terms of build-up etc. I would definitely recommend downloading that.
There are some other good tracks and the booklet is excellent background, but 3 CDs worth is probably a bit much and despite the hype leading up to the release and in the booklet, I'm not convinced Elvis was really consistently at his best in these sessions - listen to Three Corn Patches for example.
Depending what's on it, the single disc coupled with downloading Disc 1 Track 1 in isolation is probably sufficient for most, but Elvis fans might already have a lot of this material on other releases.
