Outpost 11 sets itself within a fictional war, and a group of three men based in a remote outpost are stranded from any reliable communication. What spins off from there is a tale of deceit, paranoia and the sort of science fiction that the UK doesn't really do anymore. It reminded somewhat of Quatermass, with a few touches of The Thing. Highly Recommended

The concept is good, though not original; three people (soldiers in an alternate 1950s world with Britain at war with Prussia for a hundred years) stuck in a claustrophobic and lonely arctic hut. Then weird things happen and they end up splitting apart in paranoia etc.

I liked the art direction; the look and feel of the small set is quirky and smart; a representation of a '50s world with odd mixes of technology and antique. But that is it; the story is slow and rather dull, the acting poor. It strives to be tense and weird, with a remorseless building of psychosis. In reality, it is just rather tedious. I started looking at the clock on the DVD to see how much longer it would last, and it was a close-run thing as to whether I could be bothered to stay with it until the end. I did, but I sense that maybe an early night would have been a better choice.

NOT to be confused with any of the OUTPOST films, This is a fantastic little UK gem. Very difficult to explain without spoiling but lets say it follows 3 men who are stationed in an artic bunker/ outpost while an unseen war rages, but despite it being in the future it never appears that way. It works of the excellent acting, fantastic script and direction, as well as being alittle trippy.
A great film, dont miss.

I am a massive film fan and have a collection of several thousand and I have to say that this is in the top 5 worst films that I have ever had the misfortune of first wasting my money buying, second wasting my time watching and thirdly adding to landfill after owning for less than a day.

This is badly acted, badly made with boom mikes showing in several scenes and worst of all not interesting or good in any way. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY you would be better off throwing your money away at least it would save you the pain of sitting through this absolute load of rubbish.

The blurb for this looked interesting so despite the bad reviews I 'd read I thought I'd give it a chance and I'm glad I did. Don't get me wrong this film won't set the world alight, but it has an interesting premise and while it doesn't quite deliver it does do enough to provide an entertaining watch.

Outpost 11 is set in an alternate history where steam power still rules the world and Britain and Prussia are fighting the second 100 years war. The war is global and in an isolated base deep in the arctic circle three British soldiers are monitoring Prussian radio communications. There's a mysterious power core on the base and strange events start to put a strain on the three soldiers.

The biggest problem with the film is the production level, it lacks polish. The three actors do a reasonable job with their roles and their descent into madness comes across well. The lack of budget is very evident and while it doesn't prevent the film from telling its story, it does prevent it from really shining. In many ways it feels more like a play than a film with the intimate setting and character led development.

All in all I enjoyed it, it didn't realise its potential but it did enough to keep me watching and overall it did have some interesting ideas and some excellent moments (like the spider alliance).

What a pile of garbage. Bad acting, bad writing, bad directing, awful CGI and boring. I was gutted I wasted over an hour on it.

Absolutely dreadful film.
It was interesting to note that the DVD extras have an interview with the writer who says he wanted to write a film that he would enjoy rather than try to please the masses. Well he succeeded.
From the first shot of an a army sergeant with a stupid comedy mustache to a complete lack of consistent plot line, this is best avoided.

Also anachronisms like having a video cassette in the plot when all the other props are World War period is baffling.
How this got funded is beyond me.

be warned, this is one of the worst movies you will ever watch.
ignore the promotional blurb, which makes it sound moderately intriguing, this is nothing like the actual movie.
if you can get past the crazy, masturbating, corporal, and the deadly music you will quickly be worn down by the lumbering pace, and the fact that when ,very occasionally, something happens, it turns out to be nothing.

I'm not sure where the plotline was intended to go but I'm fairly sure it wasn't the meandering cul de sac that it ended up in. Looking at other reviews I can see that opinion on this film is sharply divided between those that found it deep and meaningful and others like myself who thought it pretentious tosh. Each to our own opinion and thoughts I guess.
