4.0 out of 5 stars Decent But A Slightly Flawed Sequel
Positive.
Chris Hensworth as Thor whom has made this part his own delivering a more human side to the God of Thunder.
Tom Hiddleson scene steels every scene he's in as Loki.
Christopher Eccleston is a surprisingly good in his role as Dark Elves Malekith
Superb well directed action scenes by Alan Taylor that deliver a epic scale...

3.0 out of 5 stars Star Thor's
Two years after they're first adventure, and the passing of Avengers Assemble, things begin to settle down as another old enemy from the past returns to haunt the Asgardians once more. The Dark Elves, lead by Malekith (Eccleston) has another chance to try & send the universe into darkness with the re-emergence of a powerful source called the Aether, and the convergence...

3.0 out of 5 stars LOTS OF CGI ON UNKNOWN PLANETS YAWN BUT SOME COMICAL MOMENTS AND A GOOD SCORE, 16 Mar 2014
Dr Who used old quarries to represent other planets and nothing has changed
These battles are pretty dull and it's only when they get back to earth does it get interesting
One to rent
But a great score

1.0 out of 5 stars Dark world indeed!, 15 Nov 2014

This review is from: Thor: The Dark World [Blu-ray 3D] [2013] (Blu-ray)
Sadly, this must be the most pointless movies I have ever had the misfortune to purchase and watch. Throughout the film you wish somebody would turn the light on - it is too dark even for a 3D movie, the 3D is unremarkable, picture quality is poor - fuzzy a lot of the time and the "story"?, if you could call it that is feeble. The overall impression of the film is - just a lot of "special" effects strung together in the hope that it will make a movie. Can not understand how or why this sort of thing should get so many 5 star reviews? Definitely can not recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thor 2: The Dark World, 2 Jan 2014
Thor 2 : The Dark World
Hammers, Hemsworth, Hiddleston and humour, everything you could possibly want from a sequel to Thor, and excuse the pun, but my God didn't they do well?

This latest release in the Marvel film collection follows Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) return to Asgard, after the battle of New York in The Avengers. Only, they return to find they must put aside their differences and work together to save Asgard, along with the help of the gorgeous Jane Foster (Natalie Portman).
The over hanging question still remains through, can Thor and audiences trust the scene stealing God of mischief, Loki, with his sly tactics and his smug smirk?
A brilliant performance from both Hemsworth and Hiddleston whose on screen chemistry is completely believable and honest. Two extremely fantastic characters, played by two extremely fantastic actors.
It also has to be said, Christopher Eccleston was fantastic as the villainous Malekith and completely unrecognisable. The perfectly scary "bad guy".

This film is action packed and will constantly have you on the edge of your seat with suspense and anticipation.
The amazingly witty one liners will make anyone laugh out loud, and so helps to make the film enjoyable to more audiences than just the superhero fans. This is why I'd advise anyone and everyone to go and see this film. I promise you will not regret it!
Also be sure to keep an eye out for a brilliant and unexpected surprise cameo role!
A five out of five stars film, well done once again Marvel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic film!, 9 Nov 2013
Went to see this with my family and we all absolutely loved it. My Dad is not a fan of superhero movies but he really enjoyed this.
Has a perfect balance of action and intelligent dialogue, the serious with humour, celestial with family. A wonderful addition to the Marvel film universe and my favourite so far. A must see for anyone who wants to see a quality film you can watch and enjoy again and again.

1.0 out of 5 stars A disappointment., 19 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have all the Marvel series and found them entertaining, no matter how far-fetched. I like Thor #1 and his part in the Avengers; but this film was all wrong -- very boring, dark for dark's sake, and basically mindless. The story was very weak -- Thor seemed a dimwit, Jane Foster could have been any Hollywood bimbo, the enemy was some smear of red, and the villain was all make-up and had been better created by computer graphics. Loki was predictably treacherous and obnoxious, having no difficulty fooling the clueless heroes. I hope Marvel gets some talent for the next installment. Save your time and money and don't buy this.
