This is a must read. Very funny and very well written. Sue Townsend knows just how to keep you captured even if you are a 45 years old

3.0 out of 5 stars Good as far as it goes
Not sure whether I didn't get a full download but found the book too short. Thoroughly enjoyed it though - Sue Townsend always a good read if you like a laugh with your book

A light-hearted, fast read. Typical Townsend gold. Very witty and leaves you smiling.
The penny didn't drop until half-way through who Margaret was!

But, purchased on the day the author's death was announced provided a perfect, brief example of what a brilliant comic writer she was. If you experienced the impact of Margaret a very funny read with wonderful name jokes (loved Edwina Slurry). And had me laughing out loud in public.

This is a light humorous read.. Ideal for Maggie Thatcher fans. It isn't a favourite book but has much to recommend it.

I found this book quite amusing. It is rather short though. I'd certainly try another by Sue Townsend (hopefully a longer one).

I had no idea this was a short story when I purchased it. It was an enjoyable easy read as usual for Sue Townsend

3.0 out of 5 stars More a booklet than a book, 19 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: True Confessions of Margaret Hilda Roberts Aged 14 ¼ (Kindle Edition)
I have only given it 3 stars because there were only 33 pages to read. If it had been a full book's worth it was have had 5 stars. I am a slow read but finished very quickly. What was there was really funny, and I enjoyed it but I it was hardly a book, more a booklet.

Pedestrian and a bit predictable. Not as witty as the Mole series. Not as imaginative as Queen Camilla. Sorry Townsend fans.
