4.0 out of 5 stars Superzbonic
Super Zbonics - Old fashioned funky riffs with a modern twist added to by Gregory Porter's amazing voice. If you like Maceo and the Macks and Fred Wesley this one is for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a bore! A waste of money!
Just took delivery of Time To Do Your Thing, Gregory Porter, today. Got Be Good last year and love most of the album. I have listened to the new album twice right through. It's boring and monotonous, uninspiring and uninspired, I think. It feels like a remix of something! Almost like background music! Nothing new in here. Mostly acoustic self indulgence! Don't...

5.0 out of 5 stars Groove Jazz, 10 Jan. 2014

Some wonderful grrove orientated jazz on this CD. A very happy find indeed - tracked down because anything connected to Karl Denson (Sax) is worth checking out. Some great musicians on this CD - Gregory Porters vocals feature on a couple of tracks; Melvin Sparks (RIP) features on guitar.

This is basically the album that provided the Gregory Porter features and remixes con of an album. An excellent body of work but let's appreciate it as Zbonics album...

Heard this being reviewed on the radio and after hearing one track decided I needed it. It's a fabulous jazz funk album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A chilled - mellow street soul jazz funk infusion, 27 Nov. 2013
I discovered this album through spotify. Sad but true artists are getting short changed! Anyway....

A fine recording. Wonderful song writing and fine musicianship. These guys had some fun recording and playing on this album and it shows a hard thing to do if you are not a band that plays together all the time.

You couldn't ask for much more from an album.
From the 70's to 2013 it's a perfectly blended fusion of soul jazz blues and mild funk.
I love it!

Did i mention Gregory Porter is on the album (Band on the wall Manchester 2013 baby. I was there :-)
