This review may contain SPOILERS. Don't get carried away by the DVD cover, Tia Carrere does not look this hot in the film although she and Jason London as the love-struck pair do get a romantic scene together. This film must strike a chord with just about every male student who ever had a crush on a hot teacher. The problem for me is that despite knowing that she is married, no-one asks the simple questions such as, What is your surname? What does your husband do? Where does he work? etc. Mind you, if these questions were asked there would be no film. There was some fun to be had, especially the scene once the other students find out what Todd has been up to, but it was the obvious plot contrivances which spoilt the film for me.
On the technical side, this is a Region 1 DVD and not All Regions as it says in the product details. The picture ratio is 1.33:1 and I had to experiment with the TV and DVD player settings to get a properly proportioned picture. Another annoying feature is that the English subtitles come up automatically and you have to go into the menu to turn them off. If you do need them, they are not very good because they are almost invisible against dark backgrounds. I have given the film three stars but I think two and a half would be more appropriate.
