It's an average read with too much sexual tension and only one major sex scene. This reminded me of Christina Dodd's "Thigh High", they almost have the same storyline, but this one has a different plot. The author left clues here and there about who the culprit is, but I didn't like the way the characters were manipulated and things turned in the wrong direction.
The characters were just ok, the story pace was slow to moderate, and the ending felt rushed. It's a light read though, loose ends were tied and there's also humor which I really liked. Since this is a short story, there wasn't much groveling on Ethan's part that the author didn't write.
Ms Schroeder's excellent writing kept me turning the pages. I've only read her contemporaries, I have yet to read her historicals which I hope are good. Not most authors could accomplish being great at both genres. I still want to read her other works
