3.0 out of 5 stars Forget the strings
A trombone specialist that can be savoured on most of the albums in this 'classic' compilation. From swing to bop he had the spit.

This release of Urbie Green's"Seven Classic Albums together with a Bonus EP contains the albums
"New Faces, New Sounds (1953)",
"Blues And Other Shades Of Green (1955)",
"East Coast Jazz Vol. 6 (1955)",
"All About Urbie Green (1956)",
"Let's Face The Music And Dance (1957)"
"The Persuasive Trombone Of Urbie Green Vol 1 (1960)"
and "The Persuasive Trombone Of Urbie Green Vol. 2 (1961)" and... that all important EP "Urbie Green And His Band".

Seven Classic Albums and that EP held on 4 CDs means that just like volume one you get an awful lot of music BUT this release is suppose to be for the European Market only yet Americans pay about half the price we do. At the time of review this set cost over 17 yet the Yanks pay about 11 dollars!
I hope that the Urbie is getting a fair share of these public domain releases?
I really hope he does.

The Real Gone Jazz label has garnered some really good reviews for sound quality.
The digitally enhanced sound is a good indicator but for a proper review I really suggest you read other, more knowledgeable people's reviews.
The collection is on 4 CDs encased in a double wide jewel case.

But Amazon, at the time of review have not given a list of the classic albums or the track listings.

So this may be of interest and use?
As always if you see any typos add a note and I will correct and credit you with the correction- just add a comment......
