Absolutely loved it. Can't say much without giving the plot away, but I will say that the story did not end as I expected, it had a far better and greater ending that the one I thought it would have. Another excellent story from this great author.

Short story about a very tough girl growing up and finding the place where she belongs.

The story tells in a lively way how the girl goes from being desperate to find even the most necessary things in life, to finding a vocation to make wrongs whole and in doing so stumbling upon the one thing she never expected: a place she could call home.

The tale has a lot of action and some surprising angles in it, enough to keep you reading all the way to the end.

A book I would advise to people that like fantasy stories and fairy stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!!, 16 Aug 2013
This review is from: Wandering to Belong (Tales of Ethanar) (Kindle Edition)
I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review.

This was a fantastic tale, although a short story.
I loved how Aneira felt she needed to rescue the villager's after they had been so warm and welcoming to her!
With a horde of evil goblins to get rid of, will she achieve it???
The twist in this tale is the dragon and what side he will take.
The ending was a surprise but extremely good.

What surprises me most was that this is the 6th book I have read by this author and yet she never ceases to amaze me, she always makes you feel like you're right there in the book!!!
I can't wait to see what she writes next!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful fairy tale, 8 Aug 2013
This review is from: Wandering to Belong (Tales of Ethanar) (Kindle Edition)
"Wandering To Belong" by Jess Mountifield is a wonderful short story about Aneira, a lost young girl who on her travels decides to take on a band of goblins who terrorise a village she passes through.
Brave and with little too loose she is a wonderful character. The second part of the story is told from the perspective of a dragon, whose den becomes the scene of her battle with the goblins and who poses more danger to Aneira.
I can't tell you any more without spoiling the story for you, only that I loved the surprising end of the story.
Mountifield has a gift for writing about brave lost souls whose faith in their own goodness, in doing what's right and in a better tomorrow is inspiring. Her blend of fantasy with elements of the fairy tale genre work really well and I highly recommend you try her stories.
