5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST FOR NAZARETH FANS, AND A HARD ROCK GEM, 29 May 2002
By A Customer
This live album was recorded in front of a small audience in a special event communicated to fans through Nazareth's website. A DVD of the same title was also recorded on that occasion.
If you like Nazareth, this CD is not to be missed. The track list is a selection of some of their best material in a career exceeding 30 years. The emphasis is on older numbers, mostly from the 70's and 80's.
The performance in this album is extremely impressive, since the band's current line-up is, arguably, their most robust ever. After numerous personnel changes, Nazareth have stabilized around a combination of veterans and new blood that simply rocks.
The combination of well-chosen repertoire with highly talented delivery makes "Homecoming" an outstanding live album. This, in a band that were always known as a vibrant band when on stage, is no small achievement.

Timing is everything,no sooner had i purchased this, then i find out Salvo had reissued as a 2 pack with Dvd,typical.

Still this edition, from 2002, absolutely rocks and confirms that the old dogs still had a few tricks.Crystal clear sound ,recorded in front of a small(fan club invited?)audience, the band straddle their extensive back catalogue with several hit singles thrown in.

Naturally the 70's are the backbone of the set list, its great to hear album classics such as 'Miss Misery' & 'Whisy Drinkin' Woman' alongside hits such as 'Bad Bad Boy','Love Hurts','This Fight Tonite' and 'My White Bicycle'

All in all a great release, although you should probably seek out the new version complete with in concert dvd.
