Bought to upgrade our Sony laptop. Got a mate to fit the ssd, and wow nice and quick and very quiet. Had read other reviews about Crucial and although not the quickest, quality and reliability were up there. Very pleased with my purchase, laptop nice and snappy good for another few years.

Put this SSD into my 2011 13" MacBook Pro, installation was easy and the laptop is super fast now. I've had to sacrifice on space slightly (320GB standard) but it is worth it with how quickly it boots up and how fast applications work. Really pleased with it and the price is great too.

Good product, but take care to order the right size capacity. What your existing hard drive says it has on it and what your new hard drive says its capacity is may look compatible but certain amounts get used on configuration and other inbuilt operating systems. So take care when ordering.

Bought this for my son to install windows 8 on.
I already have a 128gb Crucial M4.......i did have a problem with mine sometime ago but crucial sorted it out for me with a firmware upgrade, so i know their customer services are great, which is the main reason i went for Crucial again.

I installed this in my Mac Pro 2008 and it worked out of the box. I first cloned my original harddrive and then booted it via an external USB connector to check the system was OK. Everything worked perfectly. I then installed it into my Mac on a Sonnet PCI card. Again it worked fine.

I've purchased this SSD as an upgrade for my desktop, and kept my previous HDD for storage purposes.
This is unbelievably fast, and a no-brainer update for anyone still using a HDD.

It's very competitively priced when compared to others.

A well worth upgrade!

This was a direct replacement to my laptop harddrive - I popped it in, and fired up the laptop - it copied and installed the windows OS in about 5mins and after the updates it boots from off to desktop in less than 40 seconds!!!

Fantastic piece of kit - believe the hype

I decided that my 2008 Mac Pro needed a new lease of life. It was getting slow to boot but it still works fine with its 8GB RAM The newly released version of the Mac Pro costs a small fortune, with prices starting at £2499. So it was definitely worth trying to extend the life of my trusty 2008 one, for just £350. The swap from HDD to SSD was a breeze. There is a lot of advice on this site, which I read and followed. The main steps were to download Carbon Copy Cloner and use that to produce a copy of the HDD on the SSD, after first erasing the SDD. I used the Icy Dock MB982SP-1S to house the M500 SSD, which I found to be solid and easy to use. The rest was largely a matter of making the SSD the start up disk by holding down the Option key when starting my Mac Pro. In order to avoid confusion, once the SSD was the start up disk I slid that into the first bay and removed the HDD completely. The difference in performance is stunning. If you have an ageing Mac Pro but can't/won't spend £2499 to replace it, do try the Crucial M500 960GB SSD. I am very impressed by the results.
