A beautiful 3CD gatefold package very much in the old traditions of 4AD. Not only do you get a remastered version of the Breeders' classic 'Last Splash' album but you also get 2 further CDs - one is a 25-track collection of various rarities whilst CD3 consists of 20 live tracks (16 live in Stockholm plus 4 BBC session tracks). The live version of Drivin' On 9 is worth the money alone....beautiful. Buy and get nostalgic listening to a great band, whose music still sounds as fresh as it first did when Last Splash was originally released 20 years ago.

The box set is really AWESOME, beautiful, very well thought, and I think it's a must for Breeders fans. The sleeves of every disc are very beautiful, great quality and top art design (always by V. Oliver). As a plus (from the CD re-issue version) you get the singles for Safari, Cannonball, Divine Hammer and Head to Toe. Also, it comes with a code to download the complete set on MP3.

About the box: it's absolutely gorgeous, just wonderful. I'm impressed by 4AD's work on this one, keeping in mind that it is their style to release very high quality/top design box sets, and I do own other deluxe editions by 4AD. The green part of the box material is a kind of soft, velvety and smooth thing, the heart is the same material as the CD set, and inside it has a green foam frame to support the discs. I love it!!! And, the booklet is the same as the CD reissue BUT of course 4 times bigger, so you can really appreciate all the pictures.

The sound quality of each disc is really really great. The one that I think sounds better is the Stockholm Syndrome (Live), it's outstanding, it captures the awesome live sound of The Breeders.

Of course, The Breeders is the best band of the 90's and what's most important is all the great, awesome and unique music they made.

This is a band at the top of their game. A side project for Kim Deal (Pixies) that exploded into life with this album. The line up just clicked into place. First thing to say is that the original album included and remastered is the perfect lo-fi alternative pop (yes Pop), full of catchy melodies and great tunes. The band and producer are at the top of their game.
If you are a breeders fan the extras are a must. If you are a casual fan then buy this and realise what a great band they were! The second CD of demos and extras is better than most bands come up with in a whole career.
The third Cd is live and proof that the breeders could cut it on stage. The BBC sessions are great and the album includes some tracks from pod (underrated) the album before.
This is the album of the nineties and deserves the loving treatment of the expanded edition. The booklet and gatefold sleeve are lovingly done - what are you waiting for!

The remaster is designed for the modern ipod generation and on decent speakers is a bit tinny but let's be honest here this is one of the best albums of the 90's. Tell me you can listen to Cannonball without getting goosebumps and a glow.

Got this as I was going to see them in Manchester on this tour. Great to revisit this album again. And the extra two discs bring together all the singles, b-sides, EP's and live recordings from around that time. Glad I got it, happy times.

This is one of my favourite albums of all time, great tunes all through with fantastic changes of tempo/genre. The extras on this album made it worth while buying.

I love the Last Splash - it's been a favourite since its release and I still play the vinyl regularly. As well as the Last Splash, this has 2 CDs of other tracks/versions that anyone who appreciates Kim Deal will enjoy.

I think the one advantage of turning 40 this year has been all the re-issues and anniversary tours. Last Splash is a great album. Two cd's off alt and new tracks plus the actual album for £12!! Bargain.

Loved the album then, love it now! Terrific value collection featuring all the EPs, which were getting hard to get hold of. I still think the end of No Aloha is one of the most intense couple of minutes of guitar workout ever recorded!

I've loved the Breeders since hearing them for the first time decades ago- that love is undiminished, and now has extra depth, thanks to this set. I have more to hear.
