First of all please be aware that though this is the first review for this listing, the actual product is sold elsewhere on Amazon and has amazing reviews, that's why I bought it (though it was cheaper to buy it from this seller).
I am running the Paris Marathon in April and have been training since December. Once I started upping my mileage, I noticed that I was getting a slight ache in my right leg's ITB at about mile 5. Running through it, the pain gradually increased until at around mile 9 I was unable to run any further. Aside from the pain it was greatly worrying that I could not run half the marathon distance without being crippled. I had ITBS
I began stretching the ITB regularly, doing planks to strengthen my hips and also wearing insoles. In addition to this I was lowering my mid-week mileage and also thinking more about the way I run i.e. keeping my strides short and hips straight. Though beneficial, this did not alleviate the problem. That's when I starting hunting around for a medical strap. I found this one and after reading the rave reviews thought I'd try it out.
Well, it works, it absolutely works!
As predicted, after about mile 5 a dull ache started BUT it never went beyond that and was completely manageable! I managed 16 miles last Saturday with no discomfort. Also, the next day, I felt nothing! You may have to restrap it a few times as I did, and strap it tight to keep the pressure on the tendon.
I massively recommend if you are having ITB troubles and you need a quick fix before a big event. However, after the marathon I am going to stop running for a few months and let it heal naturally. I had really bad ITB in my left leg last October and stopped running for two months - now it's fine, but the right leg is playing up.

Amazing gadget. I must firstly say that this will not fix the problem of the it band. But it does support it enough for you to be able to run. My it band stopped me running as it felt like a sharp pain above the side if my knee all the way up to the groin area. This impressive gadget stops the pain as there is a square piece of sponge (like a piece of ravioli!!) That stops the shooting pain. Found it the right time as I was in training for the London marathon and couldn't run more than 5 miles without severe pain. This allowed me to get through the day

its just simple, you will be able to run using this, maybe not at a competitive level, but if you control the inflamation in your kneee with ice nsaids ultrasound or whatver method you choose and wear this while jogging you will be able to ru 10 or 15 min without pain....and thats all I needed.
Cure?no its not a cure but thanks to this you wont have to quit sports all together. If you are a weekend warrior like me this will do the trick
