Jason Mott is a new author to me who has written a collection of four short stories. His theme is of ghostly nightmarish situations that stretch the imaginary mind into the realms of reality. Mott achieves a balance in his narrative that takes the reader and his protagonists from scary make-believe into the unthinkable, frightening possibility that their experiences have substance. The author bases his plots on past events of relevance to the lead characters with skill and genuine chilling outcomes. 'Them' is particularly in the bogey-man category. Keep under the covers at night especially if the cover illustration puts the wind up you.
An enjoyable spooky short book. Nothing particularly new but executed well. I'm looking forward to the release of his full-length novel 'The Returned'.
P.S. See comments. TWO AUTHORS WITH THE SAME NAME. This Jason Mott did not write 'The Returned'.
