Product is brand new, works very good and the red and black colour just gives that extra feel for gaming. Also looks awesome with the black ps4.
Very good purchase highly recommend!

As a PC Gamer I have a long list of peripherals to choose from. After using my 360 controller for years it finally gave up on me (D-Pad knackered and Lots of play in the thumb sticks.) so i thought i'd try both the PS4 and Xbox One offerings before confirming my replacement.

The PS4 Controller itself doesn't come with a USB cable or official driver support for PC. But any tech-savvy person should have a few cables lying around and 3rd party software (DS4Windows) is readily available.

As soon as I had it in my hands I could immediately feel the improvements from DS3; The controller felt stronger, sturdier, slightly larger and overall has a more premium feel to it. The now concaved thumbsticks have been widened apart and as a result feels more ergonomic then ever before, and if like me you have slightly larger hands, the increased width really is a godsend.

The D-Pad hasn't changed by way of design, but when pressed feel more responsive, and you get a more satisfying 'click' then before. The rear triggers (L2/R2) have done away with the sloped design and are finally recessed correctly. No more slipping off the triggers or not fully depressing without realizing it. Start/Select have now moved outwards to accomodate the touchpad. These feel a little weird and I often find myself having to look at the controller to find them, they feel as if Sony put them there as an afterthought. But given the little use they will get whilst gaming its not really a big deal.

The touchpad: Well seeing as I don't own a PS4 myself i'm not sure what the intended use is, but the DS4Windows software allows me to use it for the mouse cursor and click, similar to a laptop. This is absolutely the best new feature of this controller. I use it all the time to browse the web or when in Steam Big Picture mode, completely eliminating the need to move from my sofa to keyboard. You can also re-program any and all of the buttons, or use the touchpad in any other way (D-Pad, screen swipe, etc..).

I really haven't found a use for the lightbar yet but I assume its some kind of mood lightning for PS4 games, at the moment i've just got it set to pulsate the colours of the rainbow, because why not?

Pros:
-Super Ergonomic
-Premium Feel
-Rechargeable
-No need for expensive accessories (i'm looking at you microsoft)
-Bluetooth
-Responsive triggers and buttons
-Incredibly useful touchpad
-Concave thumbsticks

Cons:
-Start/Select were an afterthought

I bought another PS4 controller to facilitate my multiplayer games such as FIFA 15, NBA 2K15 and PES 2015 as my little brother also wanted his own controller. The delivery came within a day as expected and came in a medium sized parcel which is understandable because the product needs protecting on the outside in case of any knocks going through logistics etc.. Anyway the controller came in the packaging as advertised but does NOT come with another USB cable which wasn't a problem for me anyway. The controller itself looks and feels very new and I clearly favour this one at the moment since my original one has a few signs of wear and tear after a few months of use now! Overall the PS4 controller speaks for itself but having another one is useful if your primary controller runs out of battery you can easily switch over and also if you want a quick game with your mates.

My PS3 Controller was slowly failing , the arrow keys where firing at random ( and trust me this makes dark souls very hard to play, especially when it unequipped your shield mid fight :P. The inevitable happened and it failed completely so it got what was coming to it. As i play on PC and use this for games that are better with a pad i saw no reason to go for the older design, and boy was i glad i upgraded to the DualShock 4, its far far far better built that the Dual Sock 3 and the shower button are much nicer, i do prefer the old analog stick but i am used to them now. It reminds me of my original Analog ( not dual sock 1) pad from my PS1 the HUGE one! Very well built indeed! love it. And today i find out i can use it on my PS3 as well ( however i never use it :P) .

I received this as a present because they heard me complaining about finding a good controller for my custom Steam Box. The person who bought it for me knew exactly what to get! Using the DS4 to Xinput tool, setting it and Steam Big Picture to run on Windows boot, I had a controller that could quickly turn into a mouse where necessary, thanks to the touch pad. Great for PC.

However, it is quite irritating that Sony has added support for this controller on the VitaTV, but not on PS3. While some PS3 games do support it (mainly HD remakes and some others), it must be plugged in all the time and the PS button does not work.

tl;dr Getting it for PC = download DS4 Xinput to get it to work with most games, getting it for PS4 = plug it in, getting it for PS3 = wait for Sony to make a patch to add support.

At the time, I was forced to order this colour controller as Black and White were out of stock, and the others didn't seem appealing.

To say I am impressed is an understatement. Obviously it's just a controller, and DualShock 4 controllers are simply the best controllers to date, but the colour profile on these including the black/blue contrasting adds a nice level of detail that I love.

In addition, I'm sure it's just some form of strange effect, but the materials feel of higher quality on this controller than that found in the standard black DS4 controllers. It may be due to the blue coating or something to that effect, but it makes the controller feel all that more special to stand out from the rest.

Ergonomically this is a great controller,
However, after a month or so of gaming every other day, the rubber grip on the left analog stick gradually began to wear off, and a few weeks later it had worn off completely
And, just now after having owned it for six months, the R2 trigger hinge/spring has broken, resulting in it not springing back up. (Bear in mind I am not the type of person that throws controllers around.)

The first issue can be resolved by buying thumb grips to place over the analog sticks, but as far as I'm aware no replacement part can be purchased for the R2 and L2 triggers.

It's a fantastic controller to use, just a massive shame that the durability of some of the parts is very poor, unlike most Sony products.

Coming from the Xbox 360, where I thought the Xbox controller is the best controller I've ever felt, I was worried how the DS4 would feel, and let me tell you it feels great.

Everything has been improved, it fills your hands much better, and the triggers feel amazing. However I'm worried about the wear on the thumbsticks. I haven't experience any tear or wear on my thumbsticks as of yet, but there are many cases of where it has happened, I hope Sony acknowledges this and changes their rubber or something in production.

All in all, I do love this controller, however if you're buying it I'd consider buying some ORB thumbgrips to inhibit any wear, until atleast Sony does something about it.

Bought this controller for my PC to replace my old DS3 controller. It was a good choice. Triggers are much better than the DS3's and the ridged thumbsticks offer better grip. No sign of any wear on the rubber after countless hours of use. Can't say anything about the battery life as I use it wired.

One recommendation for those who might want this for their PC, find the unofficial drivers. I simple Google search 'DS4 unofficial drivers' should bring it up. It offers better support than the official drivers (like allowing you to customise the lightbar colour, use the touchpad as a mouse pad).

Overall, it is a decent purchase and would recommend it.

This is like the black one that came with the console but it's red...and as we all know RED means DANGER so I only play with this controller when I'm really angry and you don't want to mess with me pal when I'm using this and playing cod, i'll knock your block off. The buttons are dead good for this too, you think "oh irate VG nerd critic i know you're round the corner imma gonna get you" and then i'm like "nope you are not" and I click the r2 button and BANG BANG game over for you buddy, good responsive buttons, good controller, but only purchase if you get angry as you won't get the most out of it otherwise
