This series MUST be read in order. The first book is [...]. This is the second book.

The narration told from two points of view was nice because you got to see both sides of the story and get all the information in a believable manner. It was great to read a book where the characters didn't always have to stop to fill in the blanks for the audience. Not many books use dual narration and a lot of the ones that do don't use it well but I am happy to say this book used it very well :D I don't think the story could have been done well with only one narrator.

Paige(though now immortal)has a whole new set of problems to deal with and Nathan isn't being forthcoming about their circumstances. The couple has a lot of obstacles to overcome while Paige is still being hunted by various groups of dark spirits for a myriad of reasons. Everyone wants something from the newborn immortal Paige and they will not take no for an answer. The question is how will she escape her pursuers and the traps they set for her? Even though she cannot die from illness or age if all her blood is drained she dies as easily as a human. Will her budding romance with Nathan survive the trials and tribulations intact? Both her resolve and her friendships will be tested.

This book is full of action and suspense all wrapped up in a mystery. Thrills and chills add spice to the romance aspect. I would recommend this book to fans of paranormal action thrillers or urban fantasy. I can't wait to read the conclusion of this trilogy [...] to see how it ends! (Though I am sure the end of the trilogy WON'T be the end of the series!)

***This series is suitable for adult readers

* I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK BY THE PUBLISHER, IN RETURN FOR AN HONEST REVIEW *

(Please note, this is not the full review. Full review contains spoilers and graphics.)

To be perfectly honest, I think this book blew Book 1 out of the water, and you know how much I enjoyed that one. Being continually frustrated with Paige and always in love with Nathan was a really great piece of craftsmanship. Yes, I had a moment of exasperation with Nathan being over-protective (a really, really tiny moment), but unlike Paige, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he always proved that my loyalty was well placed.

As I've said before, again and again and again, I will never, ever take to Brayden. The stuff he's done to hurt Paige, not one, but many times is beyond beyond. There is no way I can ever put into words how much I want to give Paige a shake and make her see sense. I see NOTHING attractive about any of Brayden's qualities; looks or personality.

BUT!!! Where would we be without a little drama? I have to give Rebekkah Ford a massive round of applause for creating a world that I was able to step into, in its entirety. For writing a book that made my lose track of time and meals and sleep. And for creating characters that I care about, love, hate and loathe. The only reason I feel so strongly because of these characters, is because of what she's done to weave this whole intricate world together. BRAVO!

Dark Spirits by Rebekkah Ford is a delightfully spooky escape. A whimsical fun-filled tale that is both quirky and Edgy.

The Beyond the Eyes series is proving to be is an entertaining fun filled adventure. I really like the author's natural writing style. Easily pulled me in and captivated my interest. I also like that you get more than one point of view, it makes for even a better read. The characters are realistic in an unrealistic world. Made me feel for them even if their plights are different than ours. This is a suspenseful story that kept me guessing all the way through.

Quote ~

Nathan and I stared at each other, trapped in our own thoughts. And then, bit by bit, pieces started falling into place, like a game of Scrabble where the letters you had didn't make sense, but then as the game progressed they formed a word.

Deception.

I was sent this book by Rebekkah and I am absolutely dumb struck. Not only has she managed to keep me interested in the story, she has left me thirsty for more. I love all of the characters, even the demons. Paige and Nathan have both developed in their relationship and in their characters, growing with every turn of the page. I feel like I am on the journey with them and I cannot wait until the next book comes out. Rebekkah is a very talented author and I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon her work. It takes a lot to make me feel physical pain while reading, drawing me in so deeply that I feel the pain of the characters and its something I haven't felt since New Moon and the Hunger Games. My heart is still pounding and my hands are shaking. Compelling, and looking forward to Devil's Third.

When I read and review the first book of this series, I promisied myself that I'd read everyting else that Ford wrote. I kept that promise, and I'm glad I did because this is equally as good as the first. Beyond The Eyes is now my favourite series of book; may she write a 1,000 more.
