The franchise has taken a few twists and turns, Lambert killed off and a strange back story around Fishers daughter all cloud this story, no longer 3rd, but 4th Echelon, now reporting directly to the President [herself!]... It is all too far fetched, when Fisher was skulking around the shadows with very few deaths, the stories were engaging and had mystery and suspense, here Fisher no longer works alone in the field, people die left, right & centre, there are big explosions, swearing, and lots of people get to find out who Fisher is!?

Overall it is dull, all-American stereotype that does nothing to push the Splinter Cell franchise forward...

from the first page to the last it's hard to see the old school Sam Fisher on the page. He doesn't sneak, he doesn't go near a single air duct. however, this is a solid read. it's not got the technical realism of an Andy Mcnabb nor is it outlandishly over the top. but it's a great length and it flows well without ever feeling to drag out a scene.

To use Tom Clancys name on this book was an insult to a world class writer of Clancy`s standing. It is becoming a marketing scam to use well known writers as a headline to sell books which in some cases bear little relation to the headline.

THERE IS O DOUBT THAT PETER TELEP WRITES AN EXCITING BOOK. THE ACTION STARTS ON PAGE ONE AND CARRIES ON UNTIL THE FINISH.WITH NUMEROUS TWISTS TO THE PLOT.THOUGH PERSONALLY I DO THINK HE HAS DRIFTED AWAY FROM A TRUE TOM CLANCY NOVEL BY LEAVING OUT THE CHARACTERS NORMALLY FOUND IN TOM CLANCY'S BOOKS.

I would recommend this book to all Tom Clancy fans, very explicit and every detail in the book precise. Kath b
