This is an excellent re-issue of Sandie Shaw's 2nd album in digi-pak form (61.58mins). It has excellent sound quality (which has been remastered). The cd comes with a 16 page colour booklet that has some great images of Sandie and very good and sometimes humorous liner notes. The first 12 tracks are the original album as released in 1965 and in my opinion is much better than her debut album. It contains 6 tracks written by the tremendously talented Chris Andrews and one written by Sandie herself. Overall, the first two tracks - 'You don't love me no more' & 'I don't need that kind of lovin' are both very good as is the ballad 'One Day' the rest are still quite good with the exception of an awful cover of 'When I fall in love' at the end of the album. (7.5/10). The bonus tracks are all great, they're the next 6 A & B sides (1965 - 66) which are either very good or top class (all of which were written (except 1 'Hide all emotions written by Marty Wilde) by Chris Andrews. 'Tomorrow/Hurting You' (mono) is a truly outstanding 45rpm. This is a great value for money re-issue by Salvo. 9/10. Buy it and enjoy.

It's great that this early album of Sandie Shaw has been released again on CD, as the last time I heard it was when I bought the old LP version, as a teenager, which was a long, long time ago. It's great to hear it again sounding so fresh as if it was recorded yesterday and what an amazing singer Sandie is.

The second in a series of five covering Sandie's sixties music, this CD begins with the 12 tracks from one of her original albums, then adds a further 12 bonus tracks, these having been released originally as A and B sides of singles. If you are only familiar with Sandie's hits, some of the other music may come as a shock, so you might want to listen to samples before committing yourself if you have doubts.

Perhaps surprisingly, Sandie's hits nearly all occurred between 1964 and 1969, and some of those hits were only minor hits. Within the last 12 tracks here, you'll find Message understood, Tomorrow (both top 10 hits), Nothing comes easy (a top 20 hit), three other hits and the B-sides for all six.

The first 12 tracks feature an entire album, originally titled Me, which avoided anything released as the A or B sides of singles. The most famous song here is, of course, When I fall in love. Originally recorded by Jeri Southern, the song became an American top 20 hit for Doris Day, but the song aroused British interest later in the fifties via Nat King Cole's cover version. Sandie re-interprets the song in her own distinctive style, so I'm not surprised that some people dislike it. For me, re-interpretations of familiar songs are always interesting, even when I don't like them. In tis case, I love what Sandie did with the song, but it is likely that I'll always prefer Jeri's original version to any other.

Anybody who is truly a fan of Sandie's music (and not just a fan of her hits) will enjoy this a album. A lot of people, including some who apparently call themselves Sandie Shaw fans, should check those samples before buying.

I have been a sandie shaw fan for many years, when i heard her back catalouge was getting released,,i had to buy some cds.Firstly i bought Me,never heard it before-except for the bonus tracks,to be honest i do not rate this album, most of the songs sound like B sides.Sandie was a great singer its such a shame that the song selection lets this cd down..When i fall in love is truly awful, the only good thing about this cd is the bonus tracks and the great packaging, although as i type this-the cd is selling well, sorry sandie you are fabulous..but this cd will not be getting played again in a hurry.
