This review is from: Running Hot (Audio CD)
I've had my LP of this since it was released in 1986 and it still gets played and enjoyed. The opener, Heartbeat Away, grabbed me the first time I heard it and is still a fantastic song, with its joyful keyboard riff and crashing guitar chords, and the eight tracks that follow aren't short of power or quality either.

My criticism, and it's a big one, is that the over-glossy mid-80s production tends to make everything sound the same, when there's actually quite a variety of moods here. And all the tracks end with a clichéd fade on the chorus, which is just lazy and disappointing. Still a fine album though; if someone were to ask Roger Glover to give it the kind of anniversary remix he did for Machine Head, it could be a minor classic.
