I never counted myself as an intense follower for either genre but put together I can fully admit- I'm a fan. From getting sucked into the seemingly smoky era of what apparently is called `swampy blues' with Devil take my soul and Suzie Q to grooving it out to some of the Swing Republic tracks...the album provides a bit of everything. The not to be missed harmonica tunes mixed with bluesy guitar rhythms and a crazy pulsating bass line is a true sound for sore ears! Not to forget the two friendly chaps on the cover and an overall beautiful artwork design! All in all- amazing!

A fantastic album. I have been a sideline follower of the Electro-Swing scene for a few years but it never really caught me the way this album has. This album really does ignite what I love about it - and it does it extremely well. No rubbish on this album, all singles! (A rarity for many compilations I find....). My favourite track has to be Ecklectic Mick - Boogie Children, but that's a very hard choice to make. Superb work and keep them coming!!! And to all those who doubt it - Take the plunge, it's really worth it!

Really enjoyed the electro blues although I`m not a great lover of jazz. The more you play this album, well its like a good book. A friend of ours listened to the album and was thinking to purchase one for her cousin. One of the pieces, "Brother Noah" by Skeewiff is growing on me. Unfortunately the same tune is on another album covering gospel which is only out on mp3, which is a shame. However once again this is a great album to introduce to a newcomer to blues.

I loved the Electro-Swing White Mink/Black Cotton Collection and the Electro-Blues double album is excellent too, the music just makes me want to dance! A great twist on the blues......more please.

Some tracks are for sitting clad in headphones on a Sunday afternoon. Some for kickass nights in a club. Absolute scorcher collection.

Electro Blues hails from the same makers of the excellent White Mink/Black Cotton collections, and true to form, it doesn't fail to please. It has the same two CD mix - traditional tracks, which are perfectly complemented by contemporary takes on blues music - I didn't know I liked blues until I discovered electro blues, it's that good! I'm not a musician so I wont try to comment on the musical aspects, but I do love to listen and dance to music, and this collection is a perfect mix of energetic, uplifting and soulful blues music. A new genre, and one that is here to stay hopefully. All this, and its beautifully packaged too.

This is fresh and exciting. These guys have been putting on gigs in Brighton and London and this is just as vibrant. Highly Recommended. I didn't give it five stars beacause I reserve that for porn. ha.

Goodness me. While I don't mind a bit of Electro-Swing, this album seems to be trying to establish Electro Blues as a genre when it doesn't really exist. I like some of the original music on the 2nd CD, but I was mightily disappointed in the modern stuff. Moby sampling a blues track? Come on! This has the stench of opportunism about it, but seems a little desperate to be clinging on to the next fad.
