Game for Anything is a captivating, honest account of life in the bush and the challenges Nikki faces whilst living in tough, but idyllic surroundings. Nikki is a wonderful storyteller and one can clearly picture the precarious situations she finds herself in and how she deals with each one with determination, courage, humour or just pure survival instinct! Her encounters with unpredictable animals and sometimes equally unpredictable humans add grit to the novel, while her love of the beautiful bush, her family and friends shines through. The relationships that develop with work colleagues & neighbours in such an isolated environment are intriguing and heartwarming and one can feel the loss and sadness when tragedy strikes or, when the community she has grown to love, disintegrates. Nikki makes one aware of the fragile existence of making a living in the African bush, but it is abundantly clear that there's no other place they'd rather be. Highly recommended and looking forward to the next book!
