Stereotyped characters, stilted dialogues
on 5 November 2013
A terrible story really, which started with really stilted and caricatural characters such as the Viola Kenneth duo. haven't met the likes of kenneth for a very long time, either in real life or in books! Then the mistress who's really a high class prostitute, such stereotypes! And the main protagonists, non credible. Honestly, do such people exist still? The plot became a bit better as the book went on, but the characters didn't improve much. I nearly gave up but somehow still wanted to know how it was all going to end...The Viola character at least found some feminist backbone eventually thank goodness but still...A real disappointment, but one can't always win, even with Scandi novels!
