I guess I shouldn't have expected decent quality for only £50. But the reviews here, which are usually quite reliable on Amazon, suggested that it would do. This was not the case. When I received the bed it came without instructions. This was not a massive issue as it was quite easy to assemble but a little annoying. Once it was assembled it looked ok but once a mattress was place and I lay on it one of the pieces of timbre that made up the headboard immediately split at the joint. This obviously put stress on the rest of the joints and the quickly gave. The two long pieces of timber running the length of the bed began to twist inwards eventually to an angle of about 12 degrees.
Because the lats were in two parts it meant that a good deal of the load was taken by the central pieces of timber that ran the length of the bed which was not strong enough to stay rigid and therefore when one lay on the bed it was impossible to sleep anywhere but in the middle of the bed. The whole mattress sagged in the middle.
An extremely inferior product made from little more than balsa wood.
