A lovely story. Well written & heartwarming, despite their difficulties, considering that these girls had been brought up in an innocent Pre war England they were made of stern stuff.

I loved reading this story as it is about my Auntie Gwen and Uncle Ben. The author got all the facts right even down to Nan and Grandad and Padwell Road. When I was yound I used to love hearing our family tell their war stories. I have always admired Gwen for her guts and making a new life for herself. She is a lovely lady and my Mum was her older sister. This was a really good read and I will be looking forward to reading about the other ladies.

this book is so interesting, it is an insight to what it was like to marry a GI and go to America. Also how the girls were treated.
Find it so hard to put this book down.

It was interesting but it felt a little stilted at times. You never really got not the head of the heroine enough. I still enjoyed it and intend to read more.

The story was just as good as all the other books, Duncan Barrett seemed to have a good insight into what happened during and after the war
