I purchased this Lenovo G580 notebook for portable computing around the house and to meetings. For the price I paid for a slightly scratched Amazon Warehouse item it is in immaculate condition. I fail to see any distinguishing scratches at all. However for the price paid it is a slow machine and had I known it would be this slow, I would have spent another hundred Sterling to purchase something less agonizing. Still it keeps me mobile and not chained to a PC. Good keyboard design insofar as it is easy to keep clean with rounded keys that do not trap dirt. The pre-installation of Windows 8 is a major drawback, while Windows 8 supposedly boots faster than Windows 7, it continues to boot after it appears to be booted - which is where part of the agonizing nature of this machine comes in. Pre-installed with some basic software, when one starts to load other software onto the machine it becomes slower. But perhaps part of the problem lies with Microsoft for designing Win 8 not to boot properly before presenting the user with the appearance of ready to use icons on the homepage.

Lovely machine with large memory, also expansion slot to increase memory if needed. Very fast with quick internet connection, good looking item loaded with Windows 8 which is taking a bit of getting used to but no real problem.
Delivered earlier than expected.

I love this laptop, but it does have its issues. For starters, Windows 8 is a bit of a pain and within a month of having it, I had to completely wipe the system because there was something installed on Windows 8 that was making itself crash (?) and the USB ports are incredibly temperamental. Other than that, I really like it!

The laptop is excellent for its price, however the battery drains quite quickly and would be difficult to to take on the go due to this problem.

Fantastic value for under £300 - fast start-up, easy to use, great screen and not bad sound. I bought this for skype and small business use and so far I'm impressed. No issues with the mouse pad and just wipe fingermarks off. Very little or no fan sound!

The dreaded windows 8 - well I guess it's brought back frustration into computing; all those people out there that remember dial up and windows 95, fantastic at the time but the hours spent in front of the screen waiting for programs to load were frustrating.

After blindly stumbling for a few hours with windows 8, I discovered that it was two desk-tops; the first 98% is superfluous to the average PC user, but the 2nd desk-top is almost like the normal windows desk-top (found as an app in the first desk-top in the bottom left corner). Once you have discovered that gem, navigating your way through isn't so bad. My advice is to persevere with it and you'll find it's not much different to the past Microsoft platforms - Microsoft doesn't include a basic instruction leaflet, which is poor show but Lenovo guide you through the setup.

Broke down after less than 2 years. Lenovo stated its a motherboard fault and want half what it originally cost to fix it. This is a common fault and it appears that Lenovo are unwilling to accept that this laptop is not fit for purpose and does not legally satisfy sales laws which state a product must last a reasonable amount of time. 1.5 years is not reasonable for a motherboard to cease working making the laptop useless. DO NOT BUY LENOVO PRODUCTS

This was bought to use as my regular PC and it has worked out really well. This laptop is easy to use, very responsive and reliable. I love Windows 8 - it did take some getting used to and I'm still configuring the start screen to look how I want it to, but honestly, it's brilliant!

I love this amazing piece of technology.

It looks great, works fantastically.

I bought this laptop to replace an older acer laptop that had run its course. I was originally looking for a macbook, however, the prices were just ridiculous for the low-grade specs they were offering.

I broadened my search and came across this - way better specs than the best macbooks and almost 1/3 of the price. I was so impressed.

It took a little while to arrive after some confusion about address, but when it did, I was more than pleased.

I love all of its features (which I won't go into - there are a lot of them) and it's perfect for me.

Only one issue with this laptop. The screen feels a little flimsy and the hinges don't really feel all that firm.

Apart from that, fantastic and worth every penny.
