Yes, works well. Weighty, solid feel, looks like it's made out of chopped-up car tyres. Flexible, so it forms itself to the ground, and the ladder sits on it with a small degree of shock-absorbing. Cuts out the wobbly feeling of a ladder that isn't footed properly, Been up to the eaves on it, so far. *edit* Just painted the outside of the house, up to the eaves. The ladder base helped enormously, especially on grass. My knees go wobbly if I go any higher, which isn't the product's fault. A good buy.
Great product, provides a robust safety anchor point to the lower ladder and gives you piece of mind the ladder will not slip. The material is flexible and tough whilst providing great grip on most surfaces, its a must item if you are using ladders on your own.
I have now used this ladder base to support my ladder on a number of different surfaces around my house and garden. It really makes an enormous difference to stability and safety of my ladder which I am often using withoput anyone to hold the bottom for me. I don't like heights particularly and have found this ladder base gives me a lot more confidence when I'm on the ladder. Overall I am very pleased with this product.
I have used various bases over the years (most times a Rojak), but think this is better because it is flexible and shapes itself to the ground, therefore no 'rocking' - it's also cheaper. I'd recommend it to all ladder users, as it's cheaper, and the best we've used.
