5.0 out of 5 stars an excellent introduction
I love this book! It's a perfect introduction to meditation, explaining what meditation really is and expelling all the myths about stoned hippies sitting around being 'cosmic'. Simple and down to earth, this book explains what meditation can do for you, how, when and where to do it, and many different techniques to try. It's written with a joyful sense of humour, and...

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money
I bought this book because I had read in many places that meditation is a good stress reliever. But now that I have finished it, I feel the obligation to warn other people not to buy this book, because doing that is throwing the money.
This book is full of nonsense, such as “guide to interpret the colour of your aura”, “meditation can be like a...

I love this book! It's a perfect introduction to meditation, explaining what meditation really is and expelling all the myths about stoned hippies sitting around being 'cosmic'. Simple and down to earth, this book explains what meditation can do for you, how, when and where to do it, and many different techniques to try. It's written with a joyful sense of humour, and there are little 'bliss bytes' and 'mindful minutes' scattered throughout. I would recommend this book to anybody with an interest in meditation, especially to anybody who needs to relax and reduce stress. The Guide to Yoga by the same authors is also well worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 13 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is brilliant and although it takes some time to wade through it is well worth the effort and it's easy to follow for anyone wanting to learn how to meditate for whatever reason.

This book is full of nonsense, such as “guide to interpret the colour of your aura”, “meditation can be like a rehearsal for death”, “remembering a past life”, “oneness with the earth” and “trascend your body and your mind to commune with your true self”.
If you feel better believing in this kind of stuff, then this book is for you. But if you are looking for relieve for stress then look in another place.
